VE Day 2025
14th of May our 102nd birthday party.
The tables laid out with afternoon tea.
Gillian Knight had potted up a plant for everyone to take home as a birthday gift that added to the special day.
On the 7th of May we had our monthly meeting.
We celebrated VE Day 80th anniversary.
Our President and put bunting up and Union Jack napkins on each table with delicious cake with our afternoon tea.
Our speaker Brighton-based historian Paul Green who took us back in time. The history of the Evening Argus founded in the 1880’s today it is just the Argus local daily paper for Sussex.
We all enjoyed going back in times we could all remember. One of his stories included. In June 1963, the US President John F Kennedy visited the UK to visit Prime Minister Harold Macmillan at his Sussex home for the weekend, and on the Sunday morning, a visit to a tiny Catholic Church in Forest Row.
