5th July 2024 Visit to the Richmond, Surrey
A group of us travelled to The Poppy Factory, Richmond, London. The group enjoyed seeing the wreaths laid by the royal family close up. We made our own poppy in silk made in four sections and also made one to take home.
The War Widows wreath white cross with a red poppy in the center was very impressive.
We were served tea and delicious cakes to end our day.
A lovey trip to Chichester
1st of August 2023 we had a lovey trip to Chichester on the Fish and Chips cruise on the canal. The four crew were wonderful, and we had a talk about the history of the canal and a chance to get out and walk to the bridge where J M W Turner painted the Cathedral.
On the canal there were many ducks & ducklings and a very elegant Heron.
The Trust is entirely manned by volunteers who crew the boats, run the shop. All enjoyed the day
