BUXTED WI CLUBS

We also have a variety of clubs within Buxted WI:

THE BOOK CLUB:  Do you enjoy reading? Our Book Group meets on the third Thursday of each month at the Buxted Inn at 2.30. We enjoy discussing a chosen book for each month, as well as much talk about books in general. There is nothing we like more than members recommendations. We also have occasional book related activities such as quizzes and we have more activities planned for this year. It is a friendly and welcoming group where we socialise whilst enjoying drinks in a convivial atmosphere.

THE WALKING GROUP:  Weather permitting, our Walking Group meets on the 2nd Monday of each month to walk a pre-arranged route. It is a sociable activity along with helping us to keep fit, although we do frequently finish our walk with coffee and cake.

BIRD WATCHING GROUP: The Bird Watching Group meets together on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. The group is currently taking a break until the spring when we will be back with some new and interesting venues from which to watch our feathered friends.

CINEMA GROUP: We meet regularly and have attended a range of matinee and evening showings of films at The Picture House in Uckfield. We pride ourselves in supporting local businesses and the cinema offers a wonderfully relaxing environment in which to watch the latest films.

GARDENING GROUP: Our thriving Gardening Group meets on the last Friday in the month. We visit garden centres, NGS Gardens and National Trust properties, and sometimes the gardens of our own members. It is a lovely way to enjoy what nature has to offer and observe the progression of the seasons. We hold a yearly plant sale, seed swap and enjoy one another's company. It is a very sociable group, suited to all levels of gardener.

CRAFT GROUP: Our Craft Group runs regular workshops throughout the year and caters to all levels of ability. We cover a range of activities and have covered crafts ranging from Christmas wreaths to book folding. The workshops have been held at St.Mary's Church Hall in Buxted and we have an exciting programme ahead for 2023.
