BUXTED WI

Welcome to BUXTED WI which was founded in 1918. We have 45 plus members from Buxted and the surrounding area. Our monthly meetings include a variety of speakers who present a range of topics. On occasion, we organise our own entertainment. Recently, we have had a secret auction and have other events planned for the coming year. We always enjoy afternoon tea which provides the opportunity to socialise, take part in our raffle and join in the varied competitions, all in a very relaxed atmosphere.

In August we hold a summer social event. In past years we have held a garden party, with a musician, prosecco and lots of tea and cake.

Each year we organise fundraising activities for a local chosen charity. This year we are raising money for St.Wilfrid's Hospice in Eastbourne we have raised funds through holding a Christmas sale during November meeting. Additionally, we joined in with village activities and in 2022, we took part in St.Marys Craft Fayre and the village Jubilee fete where we provided tea and cake.

We endeavour to continue our work by striving to be an integral part of life in Buxted and serving the wider community as a whole. We offer a very warm welcome to new members and visitors, so please come and join us.
